Bidra med feedbackAn excellent restaurant for many reasons. 1) Lovely setting, atmosphere and staff2) Really reasonable prices for the quality of the food on order and the popularity of the place3) The food was just exceptionally executed. They’ve taken authentic Sichuan Cuisine and elevated it, cleaned up some of the unrefined flavours and delivered it.The best dish was the Pickled Fish, they’ve kept the sourness to a good level and made the fish the star of the show in stead of the swimming pickles.Top mentions to the Deep-fried shredded eel (not seen this on a menu before) and it was a great “snack dish”. The sesame balls dessert was a really good surprise, the sesame paste was smooth and not overpowering at all (like it normally is). The chicken lotus root dish was very well executed, soft chicken and I liked that they kept the bones to a minimum (often it can be more bone than meat).Average dishes were the shredded potato, sweet sour pork and pork cold dish. All them were well done but of the standard I’d normally get in China.
A pretty good experience. The food is authentic enough. The peppercorn was not spared which gave all the good numbness!
Swinging Pork Belly is a must-get.Of the hundreds of amazing restaurants in NYC, this is by far the best. I come at least once a month. I wish I could give them 6 stars.
Great spicy steamed fish and super flavourful food. great service and always bumping. calming energy. hard to get a reso but worth the wait if you put your name down as a walk in.
A pretty authentic Sichuan restaurant in Manhattan; the environment was lovely, we sat near the bamboo fish pond, really relaxing ambiance. Their menu selection is huge and all are classic Sichuan dishes. We went for the swinging pork belly, the green pepper beef tripe, the boiled beef, the spicy lobster, and pea shoots. Our favorites were the appetizers, and the pea shoots was done really well too, not too oily or salty. The spicy lobster was actually a bit disappointing not that much flavor, and the boiled beef was just okay. But definitely want to come back and try other dishes. Oh and their tea was surprisingly good.
