Bidra med feedbackCame here for drinks around 9pm on a Friday night and had to put our name down for a table. There were around 8 parties ahead of us at the time. We waited for about 40mins before we got a table. We left the bar around 11:30pm and there were open tables then, so you could walk into this bar later at the night. Overall the idea and vibe were cool, but the chairs and lighting were not ideal.
High quality beef that staff BBQs for patrons on a good quality table grill with no smoke. 68 pp for a BBQ is not way overpriced. What disappoints is rushed, detached service. The “cooks” are not friendly, appear rushed as they go from table to table to make sure guests are getting their cooked meats. They don’t seem to be enjoying their work. Unlike other Korean BBQ places where meats and dishes are explained, the “cooks” had no interest in identifying what was before us. Ok, just downright unfriendly. And quite honestly, aside from the beautiful cuts of raw beef on our table, there was a disappointing number of side dishes compared to many other Korean restaurants with prices. Something like 4 side dishes compared to 8. What side dishes that were served was bland. The two pots of soup that was served was also bland. I don’t get why they are Michelin-rated.
We came here for my birthday and had a lovely dining experience! The butchers cut is both affordable and delicious, although I do wish our waiter seasoned our cuts with a little less salt. Our side dishes and steaks were generally quite yummy, but the acidity of the spicy kimchi soup combined with feeling like I had to eat more did make me throw up shortly after I left the restaurant. It's a very swanky sort of dining experience overall with a mix of all kinds of people coming to eat. If you like steak and Korean bbq this would be a great place to visit, but given how my partner and I experienced indigestion of some kind afterwards, I don't think we'll be returning. I also wish making reservations were easier the website offers times that the restaurant isn't even open and it took me multiple months of emailing and calling to get a spot.
Absolutely brilliant. Service was excellent. Food was even better. Can't think of anything that wasn't up to Michelin Star standard. A triumph!
Ive been to Cote Miami and Cote NYC. Coming to undercote really made it special. It’s intimate and a total vibe!
