Bidra med feedbackI dont know why we even bothered to go inside as the outside of the pub looks scruffy , the grass needs a good cut , the outside furniture at front of entrance is grubby and old looking , the front of pub is just a mess. We went bank holiday Monday , I called before to ask if there were any table available for a party of 4 , I also asked if fish and chips was on the menu and was told yes . When we arrived the pub was dead (alarm bells should have rang then , as what pub is empty on B/H Monday) We ordered 3 carveries and a fish n chips , we were told no fish n chips !! I'd literally rang 10 minutes before ! The carvery was awful , tge beef was tough and full of fat , turkey was nice , vegetables were tasteless, could do with seasoning , next to the cranberry sauce was a bottle of bleach and dirty cloth , whilst eating our meal we all commented how filthy the windows looked and it seemed they had not been cleaned in months overall the pub looks unloved , could do with a good clean and makeover, can not believe the brewery have allowed it to get in such a state , certainly will not be returning there.
We decided to visit here at Friday lunchtime for a carvery and a drink. We have eaten here numerous times over the years but this was the first time back for a few months. We ordered two standard carveries and a pint and a half of shandy and it came to £22. That’s supposed to get you three slices of meat and then you help yourself to veg. Basically what we ended up being given was some small shavings of meat and wasn’t even proper slices. I have never seen anything so tight in my life, I should have asked the server if she wanted a Bics razor to carve the meat with!!! I will say to the manager this is a false economy and if you are selling a carvery with three slices of meat then at least give people what they have paid for, for the actual small amount extra it will cost you will keep your returning guests. We won’t be back and judging by how quiet it was in there, we aren’t the only ones. Toby midweek prices are only 50p per meal more and the difference in terms of quality is massive. Oh and to add insult to injury the soap dispenser in the loo was watered down that much it was unusable. Tight.
Very good range of drinks only popped in for a drink but the food smelled delicious, so will definitely be trying the good next visit
My family and I visited the white swan for Sunday dinner today The food and service were excellent and the staff were so friendly and welcoming we will be returning next week for our dinner
Carvery collection DONT BOTHER. Shocking service. Ordered a carvery for collection which by definition should mean you show up at the collection time and ‘collect’ your order. Not be told to join the carvery queue, wait 15 minutes only to be given a flimsy plastic container with the last fatty bits of beef left from a joint and point blank refusal to change it for a fresh joint, the container to be covered by a flimsy bit of cling film and handed to you with a container to go and get your own gravy that’s it. No bag to transport your ‘collection’, food isn’t even in a proper leak/ spill proof container of some sort, oh and the roast potatoes that were paid for were missing. Terrible place. Shocking service. You can get far better for your money elsewhere
