Vello - Brookline

Vello is just great, a nice upgrade from Brothers. We went especially to hear the Winikers' band which was lively and wonderful but not overly loud. We had a brand new waitress so our service wasn't top notch but I bet she'll get right up to speed. I highly recommend this and we didn't even have desserts because a member of our party gave them up for Lent. Desserts are reportedly a highlight.

Food was excellent and nicely plated. Our waiter was nice, but seemingly not quite fully trained in the menu and serving as yet, although no mistakes in orders were made and delivery was prompt

Overall solid place for breakfast! Wait times were longer than ideal for it being very slow. Food was good (the blueberry pancakes were a huge hit at our table) the coffee could have been stronger but we will be back.

Very good selection of Italian and Colombian dishes. Musical entertainment on weekends is a plus.

Decided to try the Sunday brunch buffet. Bit disappointing since this restaurant is a favorite of mine in Brookline. Orange juice was never offered. Food was not hot No bowls to put fruit or granola in Not enough serving tongs do ppl were grabbing at croissants w/their hands. (Croissants we’re delicious) Had to request butter and jelly. Might have been nice if these items were on the buffet table. We had to request the music be turned down. And choice of music for the morning would have been better if it were classical. What they were playing was better for happy hour. Also using the handheld credit machine was disastrous. Hopefully it was just an off morning or maybe just st working out the bugs for starting a breakfast buffet service.
