El Nuevo Puerto Plata - Brooklyn

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and I love Puerto Plata for its delicious seafood.

The shrimp in the Camarofongo dish I ordered was extremely salty, the white sauce was very watery, and the red snapper was practically swimming in salt. The pigeon pea rice was very dry, I did not enjoy any of the food I ordered. Money wasted. If this place had better presentation with their drinks and better cocktails, more people would visit. The drinks didn't even make me want to try a piña colada with the ugly glass they served it in. This was also the case with another drink I ordered previously. That's why I am rating it low. The place looks beautiful, many people may not realize how beautiful it is inside. I loved it, the renovation is stunning. Update since last time I went.

The food at this restaurant was decent, but I was disappointed to be overcharged and given a reason of $12 for a lemonade. In fact, I was charged $24 for two lemonades, which seemed excessive since there was no alcohol added. I usually don't like to leave negative reviews, but I feel it is important for others to be aware of this issue. The restaurant seemed to charge whatever they pleased and did not take responsibility for their mistake. They should have informed me of the high price of the lemonades before I ordered. Although I typically don't check prices, I realized later that I had been overcharged. Be cautious when dining here.

It was my birthday, and my boyfriend and I were the only two customers at the restaurant. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the drinks were excellent. The ambiance was pleasant and we enjoyed our time there. We are looking forward to returning in the future.
