Pilar Cuban Eatery - Brooklyn

It?s okay at best. I?m not sure if we went in a particularly busy day, but the service was not that great either. The food was under seasoned, but maybe I?m spoiled having grown up in Miami, Florida and being married to a Cuban American with a family ofgreat cooks. It also felt overpriced, spending 80 dollars for 2 entrees, one side, and an appetizer and no drinks. Thesurprising part was a 5% surcharge on our tab without explanation either. Not quite sure what a surcharge would cover but anexplanation or better yet, a heads up would be nice.

The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was exceptional! We enjoyed the cod, ham, and potato croquettes, as well as the pressed Cuban sandwich.

The entire experience at this restaurant was exceptional from start to finish. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and the staff was enthusiastic about the food. The passion fruit mojito we had as our first drink was delicious and set the tone for the meal. My sister enjoyed the flavorful arroz con Pollo, while I was not disappointed with my chicken sandwich. The pink flamingo cocktail, made with mezcal, guava, and lime, was surprisingly enjoyable even though I don't usually go for mezcal. The service was friendly and we had a great overall experience. We returned on 4.2.22 and found that everything was still excellent, despite slightly slower service due to the busy evening. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit - you won't be disappointed.

The food at this restaurant is really delicious. We tried the Grilled Cheese sandwich (with a unique name) and the raboliche, both of which were excellent. We also enjoyed the cortadito coffee, Cuba libre drinks, and flan dessert. There is a small bakery next door that I want to visit. I wish the prices were lower so I could eat here every day. If you go for brunch, be sure to try the grilled cheese sandwich with sweet bread, two cheeses, sweet plantains, and a tasty sauce or butter. The service and ambiance were also top-notch.

While in town visiting my daughter we decided to get some Cuban food. This is her go to place and I can tell you the food is delicious. Her and I got the pork my wife got the flat iron steak. Let me tell you the flat iron steak is where it's atabsolutely delicious. Would say the prices are a little high. But I would definitely return without hesitation.
