The Turtle - Brownwood

Hands down the best restaurant in the area! Food, drink, and service have been nothing short of excellent on multiple occasions. If you find yourself in Brownwood, do yourself a favor and stop by the Turtle!

First time at The Turtle and man I was impressed! They accommodated our group of 8 on a short notice in the evening. The appetizers and entrees impeccable. Easily Top 2-3 steaks that I have ever had, cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. Drinks were fairly priced and the Old Fashioneds were great. Cannot stress enough how impressed I was with the food, presentations, and atmosphere. A hidden gem for sure!

The Turtle is a staple to Brownwood. It’s where you can escape to a big-city-dining experience, but unfortunately this time it did not deliver. Our waiter did not ensure our order was properly placed. The Cod that I ordered was overly fired. Overall the experience was lacking.

We were worried about cleanliness when we went to The Turtle. The bathrooms were dirty, and the dining area wasn't very clean either. Restaurants should keep things clean for their customers, and it was a bit disappointing here.

The food is always excellent and the apple pie we had was the best!
