Bidra med feedbackWife amd i have been looking forward to dine at the Southern Table and really wanted it to be better. Great vibe, decor, and atmosphere. The bar scene looks fun and energetic. But the service was poor as we waited for drinks and food all night. Although the ceviche appetizer was good the food went downhill and the main courses were mediocre at best. I got the fried chicken that was over cooked and dry. My wife got the pork chop that was the toughest piece of meat we can remember. The cheesecake desert was too little too late. Sadly, we will not return.
Love the vibe of this place. Cozy and cool 1940s feel. Staff was friendly. The food? Meh. I got the ribeye and it was a really cheap cut. Grisly and tough with zero crown. Crown is that tender flavorful strip at the top of the steak. Wife got the shrimp and grits which wes good. We got the bread pudding made with Krispy Cream doughnuts. Who wouldn't want that, right? Well the chocolate chips made it taste burnt. Probably one and done for us.
The bison meatloaf with Yukon mashed potatoes was amazing. Shrimp with grit cake was a little salty. Service was excellent and attentive. Would return for meatloaf again.
They have a nice Happy Hour. Both food and drinks Shrimp ceviche was yummy Bison meatloaf was delicious Good cold beer.
The food and service were quite good. I'm not sure why the restaurant would have a singer on a Wednesday night. Usually, live music is closer to the weekend. The music was good but it was way too loud. People were going outside to talk to each other because they couldn't hear themselves over the singer.I revised the rating to a 4 star. Now I was chastised by the owner because of my review. We are not from around here. We would not know there was live music on Wednesdays. When you can't hear your server or the person across the table from you, the music is too loud. And I worked in the restaurant/bar industry for a long time. Usually, an owner would consider what a customer had to say. Apparently, not at this place.
