The Backyard - Brunswick

Sometimes a little slow on service but overall a great atmosphere and a great place to hang out.

My family's recent experience at Backyard was quite disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we were largely ignored by the staff, and it took way too long to get someone's attention. When we finally received service, it was underwhelming at best. The bar staff was unhelpful and even rude, making us feel unwelcome. Additionally, the cleanliness was alarming; the tables were sticky, and the overall atmosphere seemed neglected. It's unfortunate because the place has potential, but the poor service and lack of cleanliness left a sour impression. We won't be returning anytime soon.

The restaurant has a charming and lively atmosphere. The food is delicious, and the drinks are excellent. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor bar featuring swings, which is a delightful touch. There are also fun activities like trivia and volleyball, and plenty of seating available. It's definitely a place worth visiting. My only slight complaint is that the bartender inside could have been a bit more patient; it wasn't very busy, yet there was a hint of attitude, though it wasn't anything too serious.

However, the biggest issue was the ladies' restroom, which had only one stall available for a venue that could accommodate several hundred guests that night. The line for the bathroom was unbearable. I inquired if there was another restroom or perhaps some portable toilets, but it seemed there were no alternatives provided. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
