Bidra med feedbackThe food was delicious. Innovative, creative use of fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and helpful. Although, at first we were a bit put off when she said the last orders had to be made by 8.30pm, we had a reservation for 8.15 and one person had not yet arrived. However, in the end she was quite busy and didn’t take our food orders till we had all settled in. The distancing regulations are creatively implemented.
When you are looking for traditional restaurants offering local cuisine you may find many good places. What you probably don t find is a place which offers you the comfort to use it as a casual place at high quality food. A young and creatice cuisine which changing menu matching seasonal fish and vegetables is offereing a large range of freshy cooked meals. The wine selection is just as good. All this is completed by a very warm and friendly service runned by a family business. Come to Oepfelbom.... come home might just sum it up accurately.
This traditional, regional Swiss eatery with a contemporary spin sits just across the Rhine from Liechtenstein. We sat outside beneath a vine-draped canopy until a cool August wind (and later rain! drove us into the converted barn which is the Öpfelblom restaurant. Karen and I opted for the traditional Zürigeschnetzeltes (veal with Rösti (a sort of Swiss hash brown which was absolutely delicious! My sorbet (swimming in vodka would have been a problem had I been driving… especially as I'd had a couple of the excellent Liechtensteiner Brauhaus beers beforehand. We were treated by our friend… I think the bill came to about 100CHF each. Not cheap, but then Switzerland isn't. Highly recommended!
Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, haben wunderbar gegessen (reichhaltiges, aber überschaubares Angebot) und einen aufmerksamen und schnellen Service genossen. Die Atmosphäre war herzlich und familiär. In der Region Buchs (sehr zentral gelegen) ist dies die beste Adresse.
Nach einem anstrengenden Tag im Garten wollten wir uns mit Wild belohnen. Die Auswahl im Öpfelbaum war spannend. Wir entschieden uns für Hirschpfeffer und Rehbäggli. Beides war mit den herbstlichen Beilagen ein Genuss! Alles stimmte: Ambiente, Service, Wein und Essen!
