Bidra med feedbackI was made in Sheraton Bucharest for 4 days Enjoyed breakfast buffet Extensive menu with great selections and omnilets and eggs to order. Dinner The dinner menu is well rounded and tastefully combined. I had the foie grass terrine, with Goji Chutney.... was an excellent taste. My main course was braised lamb, with yogurt potatoes, Patty Pan and Ju Perfect braided lamb, well balanced sides, great taste and presentation. I wish I had enough hunger (or had enough time) to sample other menu items. Great ambience,Very nice wine selection. Fast and professional service. Will definitely visit again.
Having used this restaurant in the Sheraton hotel a number of times I have always found it average or above. However on a recent visit dinning with friends the service was slow, the food bland and dry. I ordered a side order of vegetable to...come with my main meal [naturally] however it came 5 minutes after we had eaten the meal and was about to order coffee. There is a new menu which allows for a wider selection of fish but watch the prices they are new too.
Have had the pleasure of several dinners at Avalon during my stay. Smoked Duck Carbonara is excellent! Braised Lamb Shank is delicious. Creative menu. Excellent service from Bogdan. He is a knowledgeable and attentive waiter. Made very good recommendations for me
Plenty of good food choices. Lovely range of fresh vegetables available. Desserts were very sweet. Good selection of fish and chicken dishes.
We ate here twice on our visit to Bucharest. Once as part of a river cruise, where the meal was included. It was a set menu being served to over one hundred covers and the food was poor to say the least. Service was slow and the food was almost thrown at us. The following evening we pursued the a la carte menu which looked much better so we returned without a reservation and were seated straight away by much more pleasant staff. The restaurant was not nearly so busy and the food was much better. We both had soup followed by a salmon fillet and a pork chop both accompanied with vegetables. The food was hot and freshly prepared in comparison to the previous evening. 2 courses along with a bottle of local wine came to just under £60 which was quite good value.
