We were a bit disappointed with it. The staff couldn't wait to clean up your table to see you out . Specially in the beginning of the week... Food was ok but nothing exceptional. Decor was nice and traditional.
This restaurant has a very good lunch menu, however, we ordered from the full menu for lunch. We were not disappointed as I can say both dishes were absolutely delicious. So sorry we didn't have time to go there again later. Waitress was friendly and service great.
Authentic Chinese food is what you will find here,we migrated to the Sunshine Coast Qld from Sydney 20 years ago & had trouble finding a decent chinese restaurant....But when we came across the Bauhina we thought we had won the lottery in those days they where located above the old CBA bank building on the Mooloolaba strip (great view) but hey have moved in recent times to a brand new purpose built building just off the Mooloolaba strip....Plenyty of parking at this new address as well.as said these guys are passionate about there food & will even go as far as cooking you something that is not even on the menu... example Ritchie (owner/chef) has said to us on many an occasion I have just had some super fresh king prawns delivered today I would like to make you ??? & so it goes, this place is for those who crave great chinese cooking, well done to Ritchie & Anna (owners/chef)
A return visit with friends after a long absence, the sole reason being to have Peking Duck which has to be preordered.Unlike the normal presentation only one round of duck skin (and flesh here) is served on pancakes with the usual trimmings and plum sauce, the rest of the meat being chopped up and presented to eat with lettuce leaves. Unfortunately the leaves served were crispy cold and could not be 'wrapped' without breaking. Disappointing. The bones are finally served as the basis of a soup which I found bland. At $69 the Peking Duck is well priced but would have been much more enjoyable if served in the traditional way.To complete the meal we ordered a plate of lemon chicken, acceptable but nothing more.BYO at $2.50 per head.We had booked for 6.45 and the duck was served soon after our arrival. We took our time eating, drinking and talking but felt under pressure to leave soon after 8.30 as we were the only diners remaining. As we left we noticed the Asian restaurant opposite was still full.
