Bernie's Place - Buena Park

One minor downside was that some pieces of the carne asada could have been cooked a little longer, but I actually appreciate the crunchy bits that come with chopped carne asada, as they add a nice texture contrast. The salsa was tasty, and the chips were warm and crispy. If I hadn't been in such a hurry, I would have loved to stay longer and enjoy more of the atmosphere, which was casual and unpretentious, just as others have described. It's a small hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but it’s clean and comfortable, which works for me—I’m not a fan of the modern, opulent vibe that many places in Orange County have. Just grab a table, and they’ll take care of you. The only unclear aspect was what to do with the dirty dishes. There was a standard trash can, but I couldn't find a place to put the used dishes—other than the trash can, which seemed a bit odd. I hope I didn't make a faux pas by leaving them on the table! I should have asked, but I had to rush out. Oops!
