Only been for lunch, which is good, but not exceptional, as it used to be in their previous location. Nor is the setting as nice as it was. Ah well. Dinner looks far more interesting.
I ordered a steak rare but it came out more like beef jerky! The service was really slow. For the life of me I don't understand why this place has high ratings?
Sadly disappointing. I've been going to Bis since it opened on Humberto Primo. I've been traveling for a few years and didn't know they had moved. I was walking home last night and ran across it and was so excited to see it that I offered to buy my friend dinner if he wanted to join me. We got the Carpaccio of Squid to start and it was out of this world. Subtle, complex, layered flavor, everything I would have expected. For mains I had the Ojo de Bife and my friend had the confit duck. Horribly disappointing. My beef was over cooked, unders and the potatoes that were served with it were fried to rock hard. The meat tasted like something I would get at a tenedor libre. My friends duck literally had no taste. It tasted as.if it had been boiled not confit. I tasted it and it tasted watery. The host asked what we thought and I told him. He apologized and said he could see we weren't thrilled so he offered a desert. We had coffee (which I'm pretty sure was Nespresso) and some dulce de leche postre. Again it had no flavor, no shine, not interesting nor delicious, just plain. We paid and left and like others have said I was going to book the main event across the alley but will not. I'm wondering if Arumburu sold his interest because I know what he is capable of and none of that was evident yesterday.
We got a severe food poison from this place. Don't go..
