Ulrich's 1868 Tavern - Buffalo

I didn't go to the restaurant to eat, but to meet up with old friends and catch up. Sal is an amazing host! We had a fantastic time!

My party arrived at Ulrichs with a reservation for 6:30pm. Upon arrival, there was no hostess and only one server working. We waited for 20 minutes before being seated. After placing our order for French fries and beef on weck, we waited for 30 minutes without receiving any food. Another 20 minutes went by with no sign of our order. Ultimately, we decided to leave without eating due to the extremely poor experience.

There was one waitress, one bartender and one cook for a packed restaurant and bar on a Saturday night hours before a concert at the arena. We knew that it was going to be a wait, so we got drinks at the bar instead of ordering them at the table. One drink was wrong (no big deal, it wasn't bad, just wrong), and another other had things floating in it (didn't notice until the drink was finished, we just let it go). We ordered two open meatloaf and two salads, when they finally came out both meatloaf were cold, and the cobb salad was missing bacon. We asked if the cook could heat up the meatloaf for us, as it was pretty inedible, and when it came back 10 minutes later it was just as cold as it was the first time it came out. There was no apology or concern. The waitress asked if we wanted to order something else, but because we were there for close to an hour and a half, we had to head to the concert and didn't have time. Basically, half our party left the restaurant without eating dinner. Also, as we were waiting for our check, the table next to us ended up cancelling their order because they had been waiting so long they were also going to be late for the concert. I went to the website to get an email address to contact them, but the website was down. I did get an email address from facebook, but the email I sent was returned to me. I'm not generally a fan of leaving reviews as it's pretty unfair based on one experience, but there's no other way to get ahold of them.

I made a reservation for a holiday weekend. We were not told that the restaurant was out of many items on the menu. The server was great, but everything else was problematic. The food took a very long time came out in pieces. We never received some items. The menu has also changed since I was there before—there are not as many traditional dishes on the menu now.

Food was very good but... Waiter brought drinks and never returned to take our order. Mgr came and gently scolded us for seating ourselves (we 'd been seated by the bartender) that 's where the confusion was. A bit of a wait for our food, asked for horseradish 3 times, was brought au jus as they were out of horseradish. Disappointing but the au jus was a tasty substitution. 3 meals were served, waitress returned to tell the 4th person they were out of mac and cheese. Bar atmosphere, old and loud, restroom needs attention. Manager did take 25% off our bill for the troubles which was a nice gesture.
