Philly's Cheese Steak Shop - Burlingame

What a joke! First of all, what kind of place sells chicken wings and hot dogs and does not put napkins with the to go order or any condiments of any kind?! I guess the kind of of place that sells medium rare chicken wings. Very disappointed with my order and will not order again.

A few weeks ago, one of my motor-mouth colleagues was talking about his recent East-coast trip to Philadelphia. He babbled all through the conversation about the Philly Cheese-steak sandwich joints from the City of Brotherly-love . I seriously need to visit Philadelphia very soon! With his annoying story about his vacation, I was craving for the East-Coast sandwich. Unfortunately, my hunger for the sandwich comes from the city of Burlingame. This cheese steak shop is located away from the lively and busy Burlingame Avenue strip and a very popular hangout for high school kids after school, with the school also located not far away. A good selection of simple food from the menu for the high school kids, but the food really didn 't appeal much to me. But I was hungry, not fussy and wanted something quick. I had the Barbecue Chicken Cheese-steak. For $6.95, I get the Chicken breast meat covered in Barbecue sauce, melted cheese and grilled onions in a long hoagie roll. The meat was a bit dry and doesn 't appear to be in the same elite class as any of the cheese-steak places in the East coast. I also added seasoned-curly fries and a fountain drink (Coke) for an additional $2.50 and that wasn 't too appealing either. My meal: [hidden link] I was in the city of Burlingame for an abysmal meal? Oh man!

Legit the best burger I've had by far. I order off of Uber eats since I'm super lazy, and got a cheese burger combo with fries and a drink. I added extra mushrooms,cheese, and grill onions. It was amazing. Just try it. It's worth it.

I only got the large onion rings while waiting for a table next door. They were okay, pretty small and looked like something you'd get from a package from Safeway. It was probably less than 10 pcs so the small size must be half or less. Just like other cheesesteak spots, order at counter and pick up your food.

Honestly, nothing about the cheesesteak I had said Philly. I don 't think anyone there or at the very least who prepared my sandwich has ever had an actual Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Don 't be fooled by the name, Philly 's Cheese Steak Shop. Phil 's sandwiches reminds me more of a restaurant style philly cheesesteak, (one you might find as a special). One you 'll settle for in the moment.
