Bidra med feedbackDo not order Vege Bibimbap. You'll regret it. We were shocked when we opened the box, it is like the photo though (sadly, we did not notice the photo on the menu).
My son and I have been to Mixed Rice several times in the past few years. My late wife was from a Thai family going way back to when Thailand was Siam and we love many Asian dishes. We have enjoyed going to this place for several years. Its food could have been a bit better for the price, with servings being a bit larger. However, we have not found anything absolutely wrong with eating here. The service has always been friendly and efficient. My son and I went there yesterday for the first time since the Covid shtdown. We were really looking forward to it. However, despite what their website claims, they are take-out only. Worse, they have a table shoved across the front door and expect folks to stand on the sidewalk to place an order and then stand in the heat of summer to wait for their food. This was a complete turnoff. I do not know the reason they have done this. If it's because of Covid still frightening them, someone should remind them that the Burlington no longer demands that businesses have to prevent folks from entering a restaurant. I would think that Mixed Rice should at least allow folks to come inside (masked if they prefer that) to order and to wait for the food.
I like the foods a lot. The mixed rice, bibimbap is more americanized compared to the traditional mixed rice, but I guess it 's because of the area here, no many Koreans. but other foods like 'soft tofu soup ' and 'spicy rice cakes ' are very traditional. I like them! I don 't expect Kimchi as complimentary, because it 's not a fine restaurant, and I am pretty sure they charge up to $15-$17 for main entree there which includes all the side dishes. I believe this place is take-out restaurant, cheaper, thus, no tips reqired. I like this way better because I dont wanna pay more for something I don 't want to eat. I don 't eat Kimchi a lot. I used to put some tips though in the tip jar to appreciate small spaces that they provide but after covid I cant enjoy the dine in. nice owners too. I always love the foods :
I?m only giving more than one star Bc the ??? (older woman) working there was extremely kind. As a Korean, this is no where near authentic and a shame to be called Korean to those who don?t know better. Flavors way off, too much sesame oil sugar, super small portions, and an up charge for kimchi(complementary at every Korean restaurant). Most of all ??? (bibimbap) had none of the traditional veggies and NO GOCHUJANG(such a travesty) !!! I?m gonna eat Bc we don?t waste food but yeah,I?ll drive the hour to cary next time.
Took the wife here for lunch and the food here was amazing and delicious. We got the glass noodles with beef and the beef bibimbap bowl over rice and a side of steamed dumplings. The food here was delicious because the flavors weren't mashed together so you could taste everything apart from one another and these were the best dumplings I've had yet anywhere. They are very clean inside. The people working here were very friendly and the food was prepared in a short time. Overall this is a gem of Burlington and I highly recommend that you try this food here given the chance.
