Zack's - Burlington

I'd like to update my review, which I initially posted less than a week ago. If you order a hot dog or a fully loaded cheese dog, be sure to ask for extra mustard if you like it, as they prepare them quickly. While the service is excellent and the food is generally good, the onions can be a bit hard, and the mustard is somewhat sparse. Also, if you order a soda, make sure to ask for refills instead of receiving well drinks.

This is a simple burger and fries spot that also offers decent chili dogs. While there’s nothing exceptional about it, the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food appeared to be pre-cooked instead of made to order, resulting in it being tasteless, overcooked, and only lukewarm.

I'm not returning, and I feel let down. Zack's has always been my go-to spot for a hot dog fix ever since I was taken there as a toddler many years ago. Back then, it was all about big hot dogs, burgers, fries, and a fun atmosphere. It became the go-to recommendation for any family and friends visiting Burlington who were wondering where to eat... it was always Zack's. I was sad to learn that the restaurant had changed ownership, and I really hoped nothing would be different. After waiting a few months for the new staff to settle in, I decided to stop by for lunch yesterday. I ordered my usual: two hot dogs with fries and a well drink. The chili has definitely changed—it lacks the depth of flavor it used to have. The hot dogs were thin and didn't have the satisfying snap that I've come to expect from Zack's. The fries were about the same, which was comforting, but good fries can't make up for disappointing hot dogs. Unless I hear positive feedback from family and friends, I really don’t see any reason to make a trip downtown for a hot dog anymore.

What you see is NOT what you get.... I wanted to check out today since I heard they had the best hot dogs. I must say that I am very disappointed at the moment I arrived. The staff was rude and it seems they didn't want to serve me and ordered other people. So when it was finally time for me to order, I felt the negative mood and got my food and left. When I had eaten my food outside the Pommes had no taste and my hot dogs looked like it was crushed and rolled up. I must say I'm very disappointed at all aspects...

It has been a while since we have been to Zack's Hotdogs, but it is just like we remembered it. Rick greeted us with a smile and some great conversation. He made sure that our food, drinks, and our overall experience was great. This place is a staple and has been around forever. Any and everyone knows about this place and we will continue to go back. Thanks Rick! We will see you soon bro!
