Habitat Pub - Burnaby

This was my second visit, and unfortunately, I experienced the same rudeness from the servers, who treated customers like children. I can't recall the last time I encountered such poor service—I've had better treatment at McDonald's, and their table cleaning is more efficient. I would strongly recommend skipping this place. Additionally, I noticed the bouncer was allowing underage individuals into the bar without checking their IDs, which I found quite unprofessional. Overall, the lack of professionalism here is shocking.

I'm really impressed with their beer selection and special offers. The regular staff are very friendly and handle the busy times, like the first week of school or finals week, exceptionally well. Although some people claim the service is slow, I believe it has improved significantly over the past year. Normally, I wouldn't give a place five stars unless the food was fantastic (although some dishes here are quite good), but this is a pub, and let's be honest—who goes to a pub for the food? Come here for the great beer!

We sat at the bar, which offered a fantastic view of the game on the big screen, as well as flat-screen TVs on either side. The place had pool tables and a couple of arcade games, making it a great spot for students looking to unwind after a long day of classes and projects. However, I have to say that their shot prices weren't particularly student-friendly, haha. I also want to give a shoutout to our bartender/server, Josh. He was fantastic—professional, efficient, and very accommodating. All in all, a great experience! Enjoy, kids!

I know this is a pub and the general expectation would be that is is pub food but the food here is really good. so good, that my friends from my work office down the street insist on coming here even though they dont drink. thats a testament to how good the food is. sometimes gets a bit weird cause the students like to get a bit rowdy... but its all part of the charm IMHO. has tons of seats too: never had to wait to get in. the patio is sloped a fair bit which kinda sucks but if you sit inside with some friends, grab a few drinks and some great food... you will not be disappointed.

I've been a weekly patron of the Habitat for over a year. After a long-lasting, friendly, personable and attentive bartender left over the Winter Break, I thought the time for my weekly beer would be a lot worse off. I was wrong. The current serving staff have been nothing short of awesome. I can see the point of some people complaining about the speed of service, but personally I've never had an issue with service here, either at the bar or at a table. Beers come to the table quickly and are cold and sometimes put into a chilled glass.
