How on earth could I rate this barbecue legend any less than a million stars?Well, because the facilities are lousy, parking is awful, and the sides range from mediocre at best to terrible.Specifically, the potato salad was inedible by texture and too much salt and pepper.The corn was okay, but the green beans were pretty good.How about the barbecue itself?Yes it was superb.The brisket was some of the moistest I have ever had.The prices are more than fair for quality of barbecue and portion size.This establishment is definitely worth visiting.

Yum. Best bbq brisket, juicy. Pork ribs tender fall off the bones tender. Only open Friday and Saturday.

So sorry to hear it's closing.... get there before it does... BBQ was quite tasteful and the people are the best!

Such a great spot. We were passing through and just happened upon Paynes. Everything was delicious and the folks were so so nice. We got SO MUCH food for an extremely reasonable price. Both got the sandwich special with sides, deserts and drinks for only $25. Unheard of. Any time we are in the area, we'll stop back for sure!
