Cafe Bridges - Burnley

I have been going to this restaurant for thirty years and have never experienced a disappointing meal. The staff, Kieron and Linda, were outstanding. It makes me sad that I won’t be able to visit again.

My friend and I recently went to Cafe Bridges to enjoy a Full English Breakfast. The breakfast, priced just over £4, came with a filter coffee included. Unfortunately, the sausage wasn't of the best quality, and the bacon was quite tough. The beans appeared overcooked and looked as if they had been reheated multiple times. The mushrooms were rubbery and also seemed like they had come out of a microwave. While the service was friendly and the staff were helpful, I had high expectations for this place, and we left feeling disappointed.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and served in ample portions. Although they don't serve alcohol, their special meals, sandwiches, and jacket potatoes are all fantastic. The prices are significantly more affordable compared to most pubs in Burnley, making it a great deal for your money. I will definitely be coming back and recommend arriving early to get a table.

I visited this restaurant today as I wanted a change from our usual cafe, Belisimos. I pass by this cafe all the time when coming out of the car park, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. We walked in through the takeaway area and into a small room with only seven tables of different sizes. Despite the limited space, we were able to be seated without having to wait. The menu was very good, with lots of specials listed on the blackboard. They offered homemade pies, lasagne, quiche, and other dishes. The chips were not homemade, but that's understandable. From the conversations between customers and staff, it seemed like they have a lot of regulars. It had an old-fashioned charm to it, and I ordered the homemade cheese and onion pie which was delicious. The staff, a group of very friendly and lovely ladies, served us. My only complaint is that it was a bit cold inside, but that was probably because the front door was constantly open. Despite this, we will definitely be back as the prices were great - I was amazed that we had change from £10 for two main meals and two teas. Excellent value for money.
