Blue Branch Bbq - Byars

We stopped by for lunch today and unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. The food was mediocre at best. They messed up our order and initially insisted it was what we had requested. When we pointed out that the menu description didn't match what we received, they made the correction. However, we never received the pickles we asked for three times. With so many great BBQ spots nearby, I don't think we'll be returning.

We had a fantastic experience at Blu's BBQ in downtown OKC, where we thoroughly enjoyed the ribs and brisket. The ribs are smoked with pecan wood, imparting a delightful flavor. For sides, we highly recommend the cowboy beans for those who enjoy a bit of spice, as well as the fried okra. The owner, Kathy, was a true joy and made our visit even more enjoyable!

First, I'd like to clarify that this restaurant falls under the "quick bites" category, which can be a bit misleading. My husband and I stopped by after visiting the Memorial, having searched for BBQ options nearby on TripAdvisor. To clarify, you do order at the counter and then find a seat. The owner, Kathy, took our order personally, giving us helpful recommendations and even some samples to guide our choices. Our food arrived promptly, hot, fresh, and delicious! The fries were particularly tasty. My husband remarked that it was "the best brisket I've ever had." We even bought three bottles of their BBQ sauce to take home with us. During our two weeks of cross-country driving, this restaurant has undoubtedly provided us with the best dining experience! Kathy will definitely have a spot in my scrapbook, as this was a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend the "meat platter," where you can choose your meats and sides—there’s something for everyone! Oh, and I almost forgot—Kathy treated us to some chocolate chip cookies after our meal!

Shared a two meat platter of brisket and turkey with okra and cowboy beans. Delicious! Brought out free cookies after our meal.

Good burger with smoke sauce and seasoned fries. Brisket sandwich with baked beans also a winner... good atmosphere in a tucked away location. Nice open space with inside patio.
