Bidra med feedbackStopped in after a long day of driving for a late night bowl, and wanted to compare to SoCal offerings.
One of the best dish to have during cold weather.Combo beef and chicken is always a crowd pleaser!Chunky beef tripe, meat ball and chunk of chicken breast evidence scattered all over the soup.I did modify a little bit on my soup, I did order crab and sugar cane with yellow soup, but instead I want my soup clear, which is nice addition to the whole dish overall
Gia Hoi has many branches scattered throughout Sydney. It features a range of Vietnamese classics at fairly afforable prices and i've been here a few times previously. With this said, the quality of the food has declined significantly. None of the dishes hit the spot and all had faults that were glaringly obvious in the mega competitive food scene in the area. We ordered the banh hoi (diy mixed meats, vermicelli, rice paper rolls) bun rieu soup, crispy chicken rice and spring rolls (all to All the dishes lacked a depth of flavour or the meats were overcooked/cold or dry. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unfortunately, give another local eatery a go.
Ordered a takeaway meal of Bun Bo Hue today. While I was waiting in a corner seat inside the restaurant, I was asked to leave and sit outside the restaurant by one of the owners there. His reason was that I needed to let other customers sit?? I paid for my meal and was waiting for it to be ready. I am as much the same customer like everyone else. The restaurant was not even 50% filled; there was PLENTY of seating everywhere as it was quite late in the evening. He was very demanding that I should be off from my current seat and sit outside. It was an outrageous demand, and I was shocked that the restaurant would treat a paying customer this way. The male owner there treated me, a paid customer, like a beggar that need to be shooed off from the premise. If you are reading this and thinking about eating here, I highly suggest you don't. The restaurant looks nice, food looks good, but if they treat a normal paying customer just like a beggar that doesn't have the right to sit inside, then what stops them from treating you the same?
