Bidra med feedbackThe buffet looked reasonably good, but my husband and I were using a $15 birthday voucher which entitles you to that discount only when you order from the menu. I've been disappointed here before so I decided on something simple - the chicken, camembert, bacon & salad & chips. At $24.90 it was way overpriced, but I was hoping for something good. Again, I was bitterly disappointed. The cheese was thrown randomly over the (overcooked) chicken and was topped with scrappy bits and pieces of bacon that looked like they were the dregs! The chips were chucked in a scrappy pile to one side and the very small, uninteresting salad was all but inedible. My husband's rare steak came out closer to well done and his side sauce was thick and unappetising. His chips and salad were like mine - very substandard.I really don't understand anyone classing this sort of food as good, let alone excellent. Each time we eat here we vow to never return. This experience cemented our resolve.
A great club atmosphere for everyone to watch AFL matches on the big screen - especially us visiting Cats supporters! There is an optional $2 membership fee that gives good discounts for food and drinks. Dress code is good casual and no hats, thongs, singlets or caps. Convenient bus drop off and pick up (from Cairns) for a very reasonable price just ($2.80 one way for Seniors, compared to $25 for a taxi!). Friendly staff and good value meals and drinks. Our calamari Caesar ($25) was very generous (we should have shared) but quite salty. Recommended.

Cazalys has a good reputation in North Queensland for the food and drinks offered at this AFL Sporting Club. We were part of a group of thirty people staying at a motel about 300 metres from this venue. The group decided to have an evening meal there during our 3 day stay in Cairns. Most of us elected to take a roast meal from the Carvery while a few opted for a la carte dining. The roast meal cost $19.50 and allowed one to choose from beef, lamb or pork (including crackling) as the meat portion. The staff member serving actually weighed the meat onto the dinner plate ensuring that all diners received a generous portion. The roast vegetables offered include roast potato and pumpkin, creamed cauliflower with boiled brocoli and peas. I normally eat a large meal but struggled to finish my dinner. Many of the group like to take red or white wine with their meal. The wine list was extensive and ranged in price from mass-produced budget wines with costs as low as $4.20 per 100 mL glass to the more expensive tipple at $10 per glass. Complete bottles were also available. Seating was comfortable and room to eat was adequate. This venue compares very favourably with similar large sporting clubs throughout North Queensland. Our group discussed their opinions on return to the motel. The general consensus was that this club should be included on the program during future trips to Cairns.
We went to have coffee with friends & as we were early we had lunch also. Nice meals. There is also a games room for the children & poker machines for the adults. We spent a nice afternoon there with our friends.
