Lisbonense - Caldas da Rainha

Foi nossa anniversario e Sana fiz tudo para fazer que foi uma noite lembrar. Sorry about the portuguese but we have to try. We had a super evening, the drinks in the bar, the food and wine and the wonderful service from our waiter Burno, made it a special evening for us. We will be back.

Firstly, this restaurant is in a hotel lobby. To the right of your dining experience is people checking into the hotel... This place is just awful. We probably should have realised when the amuse bouche arrived for only the kids. The amuse bouche is pre prepared and if you don't eat what's in it (vegetarian other) you simply don't get one. We ordered four mains, they were simply awful. The tuna was pretty but devoid of flavour somehow. The two (different) risottos were bland and somehow like soup and the hake was pre packaged. Seriously, I think it came from a supermarket... At this point we asked for the bill and left, not one of us having eaten their main. But worry not there is a supermarket next door...

I ate in restaurant for 4 meals 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners and had no need for lunch. Very good food sometimes prepared in ways that were new to me. Good service and the advice on wine was excellent

Wonderful fixed menu with two nice options. My husband and I both chose the cod fish appetizer and the seared ahi tuna. Both were delicious. Service was pleasant and timely. We really enjoyed our lunch.
