Sooo you can eat here.... During our big day out in Calvert, TX we ended up here. I am not sure why.. Oh maybe it is because there are only 2 places and this was the cheapest... hmm let's say most authentic option. I had the grilled chicken salad which was huge and just a standard salad, nothing to write (home) about.. oh wait. This place was small town Texas at it's finest. For the record, I would not speed through College Station to eat here, but I would not refuse to eat here again.

I loved the onion rings! Great burgers as well. The food is good unpretentious. That also can be said of the employees. Such a refreshing change from the artificiality of so many eating establishments in the city.

Nice clean cheerfully decorated true Texas comfort food cafe! Chicken Fried steak and Fish and Shrimp on Friday nite pretty dang good. Calvert has a lot of hidden pleasant surprises, Miss Carols was one of them.

The service is really really SLOW. The place may be okay if you have an hour to kill while you wait on your food. they say it is home cooked but they buy their pies out and bake them there. all their fried foods is greasy even if it is fried in peanut oil (hope you aren't allergic to peanut oil they don't post it I got this info from a waitress). We were told of the music on Friday, It is so loud you have to yell to the person next to you to be heard. We won't go there again.
