Bidra med feedbackA fascinating exhibition of new work by Cambridge born, London based artist Ian Rawlinson inspired by place and memory. The exhibition runs from 3rd 28th October 2022 at the Edge Café. The preview takes place on Saturday 1st October from 5.30 8.00pm. JUNCTURE is the latest in a series of solo exhibitions inspired by Ian Rawlinson’s hometown of Cambridge. The imagery is drawn from places which have remained intact since the artist’s childhood, despite significant changes in the city. Prints and collages depict fragments of this vanishing landscape. His personal history is an influence on the work and the search to find images which provoke a sense of resonance form part of an ongoing investigation into ideas of place and memory. In this latest series of works, Rawlinson uses adjusted and abstracted stills from his films, together with encroaching black forms, reductive marks and gritty textures, suggesting ideas of fragmentation and loss. The café is open Mon Sat 9.00am 4.00pm.
