Bidra med feedbackThe way this restaurant prepares its stupid bass dish makes it the most delicious way I 've ever eaten bass in my entire life. Everything on the menu I 've tried is superb. Also superb is the atmosphere and the service. I give a particularly strong shout-out to the server Morgan.
Our servers and front of house folks were clearly a team. They took such good care of us! The food was amazing. Cheddar and Time biscuit not to be missed. Unless you are a big eater, one biscuit is more than enough for two. We also had the seviche (with beautiful dollar size lattkes to spread it on). And the two duck was deluxe. Our first visit, but not our last.
Food delicious; very good and imaginative variety to choose from; service excellent; prices quite reasonable for Boston area. The downside from our standpoint was loud and unattractive music. Lower volume would be appreciated! That said, we shall certainly return and have recommended STT to others.
I thought they did a poor job on the ceviche. It didn't seem as though it had been made to order, rather, prepared ahead of service and therefore the fish was way overcooked. It was like firm pellets of fish rather than soft, moist pieces. Also, they didn't serve any of the citrusy liquid with it, depriving us of the delightfulness of that aspect of the dish. My wife liked the tuna sashimi very much, and I did too. It was well conceived and beautifully executed. My pan-seared striped bass was a disappointment. The bass itself was a tad overcooked because by the time I got it had become a bit dry. Also, it could have used more seasoning before going into the pan. The greens were nice and fresh, but the overall flavor lacked depth. It needed the addition of more complementary flavors. The dill labneh also could have used another layer or two of flavor or maybe just seasoning. It was just sort of yogurt. I had expected the kohlrabi latke to have something closer in texture to, well, a latke. Instead what they served was really more like a fluffy, rather bland pancake.
Open only since January, Season to Taste has developed a loyal following, and after tonight's dinner, I can see why! The service was friendly and team-oriented, the food was decidedly fresh and local.
