Mid-priced restaurants were scarce in Portugal, say between 30 and 50 euros. Not anymore, or much less. This is among those featured in this category. It's fine if the quality justifies it, but that's not always the case. We have seen a little of everything here today, quite good service (notable), excellent cod (outstanding), discreet kid, both baked, average meat quality and accompanying garnishes not too well incorporated. The €25 for the first and, above all, the €29 for the second seemed like excessive prices, not justified by the quantities either. A full dining room at noon on a Sunday like what happened today may make those in charge feel confident, but I would suggest some change in line with what was mentioned and also some effort in terms of service: they should willingly collaborate with customers who want to share dishes, for example, and they don't. It costs nothing to add a couple more services and it is tacky not to do so. Inattention like this creates discomfort for the client, from whom obvious complaints should not be expected, especially when it is intended to be above basic levels. We found the restaurant beautiful and everything was very well served, but the prices seemed excessive for the area. The preparation of the dishes seemed to us like a “I want to and I can't” mixing ingredients to give originality that in reality did not do the dish any favors. We ordered a teriyaki sea bass, which was simply served over a teriyaki sauce that did not affect the flavor of the fish at all. And as a garnish it had a very milky risotto with a strong cheese flavor that in my opinion destroyed the dish. My husband ordered a cod that was accompanied by potato chips. It looked like a dish from a children's menu and I had to pick it up with my hands . Being a restaurant that aims to be upmarket, we didn't like entering and having someone who should be the owner or manager, be at the entrance and far from welcoming us with a smile, looked at us as if wondering what we were doing there. During dinner, he started printing documents, and the printer was surprisingly in the middle of the dining room. Another detail that caught our attention was that they charged us €2.50 per person, for bread, 4 olives and a small amount of butter. I know it's customary in Portugal, but we weren't in just any bar and they could make a difference. Finally, I would like to advise you that if someone makes a reservation for a special celebration, a detail from the house is something that the client will never forget. Overall, we thought it was expensive for what it was, and even though we really wanted to go, we will never go back.
