For a great Italian beef sandwich or an authentic Chicago hot dog you cannot beat Portillos. It is casual, fun and tasty.

The menu was quite diverse, featuring some intriguing options, but I opted for the burger combo for a classic choice. The interior of the restaurant is fascinating and photogenic, as you can see in the pictures. In fact, they received an award in 2021 for being one of the best dining spots in the area, and it’s easy to see why. The restaurant is spacious, accommodating large groups comfortably. Overall, I found the food to be quite good, rating it 4 out of 5. However, considering all the other aspects, I believe it deserves a 5. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Menu variety: 5/5 - Pricing: 5/5 - Service: 4/5. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

You can smell Portillo's before you even step inside. There’s a wide variety of food to choose from. I ordered burgers for two of my kids, while my son had a hot dog and my daughter opted for the chicken tenders. The wait was a bit long, but it was well worth it. After the first bite, you won't regret it. My burger had a nice char, enhancing the flavor, and the salad was fresh—thankfully, the tomatoes didn’t make my burger soggy. It’s definitely a fantastic place, and we will be returning!

Portillo's Hot Dogs is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the Chicagoland area, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Located in Merrillville, Indiana, right by 81st Street, they're ready to take your order. Be sure to try the milkshakes, Italian beef, hot dogs, and especially the burgers!
