Jang Tur Korean Bbq - Canterbury

I love this place because they probably didn't change the pass 20 years. it also feels like the old school Korean bbq with its tiny tables and no attention to its deko. price is also decent, so if you want to see korean bbq like the ones they have seen in korean dramas and films, I would recommend this place.

Authentic low-key good old fashioned korean bbq! Dodgy decore, but good service and marinated meats. Very home cooked environment, almost feels like korea from a by-gone era. Be prepared for the eating around the barrels. Hidden gem.

One of my all time favourite KBBQ places. It has a very cosy atmosphere as it is a family run business. They offer one free egg soup and can I just say it is one of the best egg soups I've ever had. Of course one is not enough so you'd have to order extra if you're eating with other people! I brought my boyfriend here and he enjoyed it very much compared to his experiences at KBBQ buffets. Highly recommend you to try this place out!! The serving portions may seem small but don't be deceived it will really fill you up. I also think the prices here are reasonable. A must try if you want an authentic KBBQ experience.

I am actually family friends with the owners of this place so I have been dining here for more than 10 years! I pretty much love the whole dining experience of this place. You get to sit around these barrel tables which is super awesome for socialising and you get to grill your meat on some nice Korean oak charcoal. It truly reminds of some of the old bbq places you will find in Seoul For the food, I highly recommend you to order the 양념 소갈비 (marinated beef ribs) and 삼겹살 (pork belly). Walk past this restaurant most nights and am always enticed by the delicious aroma. After reading lots of split reviews raving or hating we decided to try it ourselves. So glad we did so because it was a great dining experience. Yes the service isn't fantastic but that is simply because it's a quiet family run place. I love that you get cook your own food and the free egg soup is to die for and I could have eaten the whole bowl myself! If you can't get in the front door, head round the back and go down the alley. Definitely check this place out!
