Burgate Coffee House - Canterbury

This charming coffee house is a great find! It's one of the few places open at 9am on a Saturday, offering a bright and welcoming atmosphere with gentle background music. I tried a delicious flat white and enjoyed a generous portion of porridge with blueberries, banana, chia seeds, and honey. My boyfriend also had a satisfying meal of scrambled eggs with avocado and bacon, accompanied by a tea. The dishes were well-presented and just the right size to start the day off right. While it may not be suitable for large groups, this cozy spot is perfect for couples or small groups of two.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The coffee was nice and the toastie was delicious, plus the location in the city is convenient. However, the restroom was filthy with deep ingrained dirt, a dirty sink, and just overall very unclean. It made me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. When I returned to my seat, I noticed a similar dirty area behind the coffee machine. It's probably best not to look too closely to avoid feeling put off.

I love this small, family-owned restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The coffee is excellent and the cakes are delicious. Sitting outside on the bench and watching the tourists stroll by is a delightful experience. Although I haven't tried the sandwiches yet, they look amazing. In my book, this place gets a perfect 10 out of 10.

Very poor service, pot of tea came with cup and saucer, no spoon sugar or milk , asked for milk it came in cracked jug, still no spoon asked for spoon , came but no sugar. Sent milk back , asking for uncraked jug , used friends sugar. Friends coffee wasn't hot and she had particularly asked for extra hot. Second cup came the same . Staff were disinterested and made no apology. Will not visit again, if I hadn't paid in advance I would have walked out .

We had a coffee at the van outside the station this morning and needed more caffeine so came to the shop this afternoon for an excellent and creamy oat flat white.
