Tucked away on the Pilgrims Way and surrounded by countryside yet easily accessible by car, horse or even on foot this is a delightful little inn.
Didn't get to eat hereso cant comment on the food but the service was appalling.
They had a sign on the high road that clearly said vegan Sunday roast served all day so that we stopped. they have two options nut roast or sausage. they can also get an extra large option with both. it came with carrots and carrots and yorkshire pudding. I had the sausages and they were nice, probably not handmade, but good. the yorkshire pudding was really good. they also have a vegan cake and vegan desserts. the staff was super friendly and the place is clean and sunny on a Sunday evening. a good option if they are in canterbury, especially if not everyone on the party is vegan.
The restaurant of the pilgerhotel is its typical, friendly, neutral, on-the-posh side restaurant. so I was surprised to find a clearly displayed vegan option on their menu "pilgrim’s pie a light, beautiful veggie dish. Beyond that, the staff had arrived unbelievably, even to give me advice on what kind of beer and apple wine were suitable for vegans (without asking me at all)! I did not get the impression that they are used to get a lot of vegan customers, but they were really considerate. I would definitely recommend this place to go with people who eat everything (read: I went here with my mother)
