Il Granaio Dei Casabella - Capaccio

This is a wonderful hotel, with historic charm, friendly reception staff and a relaxed pace. It is whisper quiet at night, the breakfast is typically Italian, and recommendations from Philli at reception for good family-run restaurants with superb food (including vegetarian) were perfect. Paestum is an incredible archaeological site, yet it is uncrowded, spacious and a pleasure to wander around. The museum is excellent. A multiday ticket is recommended to visit the museum and outdoor site without rushing. You can wander down the Main Street at night without any cars, the ancient temples illuminated beautifully for all to see. Children were enthralled. The beach is nearby, also uncrowded, and the hotel can arrange private tours of a nearby buffalo mozzarella farm, which was excellent and had a great cafe too. We wish we could have stayed longer and relaxed in the hotel garden with the cats.

Paestum is a perfect place for beach vacation with kids. The beaches are not too crowded and flat. Il Granaio dei Casabella has spacious, very elegant furnished rooms. For breakfast just high quality and yummy food is served! In the evening they also serve dinner which was very, very tasty. If we go to Paestum again, we definitely would stay there again!

We chose this hotel when planning to visit Paestum because other travelers wrote eloquently of its charms and its proximity to the temples. When the gates were thrown open and Veronica came into the farm's courtyard to greet us like old friends,we knew we'd chosen well. Lovely grounds surrounding a large, hospitable former farm house, comfortable, rustic rooms (our with a view of Hera's temple) extensive choices at breakfast served by the world's most thoughtful gentlemen who proudly serve jam they've made from the property's fruit trees and comfy outdoor seating under trellises for an afternoon of reading...who could want for more?

This restaurant is part of the hotel. It is decorated such that you know that you are in Italy! We ate inside by a wood burning stove that made the room cozy. The food was excellent and they were very accommodating to my husbands vegetarian needs. He had a pasta dish with vegetables and I had a small salad and the beef stew everything was excellent. We usually don't eat at hotel restaurants but were very glad we did here. The staff was very friendly.

Our family of four, including our two young sons, spent 4 nights here in early April. We had the most lovely stay! The staff was so kind to our children. The boys still ask about the kind breakfast attendant in particular. The restaurant is absolutely wonderful!!! We were fortunate to eat there for 3 evenings. The cheese tray is absolutely wonderful and was offered every evening don 't miss it! We will returning to Paestum within a year or so once the Heraion is again open to visitors. We will definitely be staying here : . Oh, and we had the most wonderful interconnecting set of rooms. Rooms 106 107. Perfect for families! There was a small amount of road noise, but we have a white noise app on our iPad. We didn 't have any difficulty at all from noise. There are garden facing rooms for the more noise sensitive.
