Bidra med feedbackLarge service (although some delays await), unpretentious decoration, good variety of Indian food. I ordered a vegetarian curry and I was not satisfied. it lacked texture and taste in the curry that slightly disappointed me. my colleague ordered a hare-chow, which was incredible. good size parts and beautiful spices.
Decent curry. Have the tasting platter you get a great selection and lots of food. Avoid the crab curry they don't provide any craw crackers and expect you to use your hands to break the shell. So unless you crazy strong or experienced you won't be able to eat it. Service is really poor. Often have issues.
I wish I could give more stars, but I cant. Visited Vandiar 's about a month ago and it was really disappointing. When we arrived, I happened to notice the place two doors down was so full and busy and I looked at Vandiar 's which was close to empty, then and there I already had a bad feeling. The service was laughable, waiters were friendly but beyond clueless. The food was ok I guess. The only dish that was somewhat tasty was the lamb curry. This place has potential but really needs lots of work.
I ordered a lamb bunny. Some pieces of meat were soft. Some were hard. The curry had a slight bitter taste. Definitely not a Durban Curry but good staff member kept me company.
We were at Vandiar's two years ago with a group of friends. We all ordered different dishes and the food was all very good. So armed with that memory, we went back last week for lunch, and we were very disappointed. My butter chicken was extremely bland and I have never ever had a worse tasting Mango Lassi. Although our waiter was very nice, we won't be hurrying back!
