Sainsbury's Caf - Carlisle

Ordered engraving n chips, tasted as if they were covered with Lard!!! Had to wait a while. Many people complained about foods that took so long or were cold. Nice service, friendly staff.

The quality of food has deteriorated in the last 6 months or so. I was here a lot. Had three bad experiences with lunch main course and every time tried various articles, but it was sad. The Slayer was the worst. But I would recommend breakfast, although... it can't fail. I'm still here for this reason.

It's basic, reasonable priced food, parents eat here and like it, I personally do not often other than piece of fruit or occasional Jacket potato. Handy for being open later than most cafe's for coffee and a bite to eat in Carlisle as open to 7pm. Staff friendly and very helpful.

The cafe has not been up to its past efficiency over last couple months, however food is good when you get it. Sainsbury need to look at front of house staff training and have at least two staff at the counter at lunchtime. Also staff should check the self service area regularly to top up cakes/sandwiches/plates as well as ensuring tongs available (none out at 12:30).

No mayo. Couldn't they just pop downstairs for a few squeeze bottles? Very short-staffed. Long wait for service. Food ok but not amazing. Table not clean, although waitress did go to fetch a cloth and wiped it down.
