Jay's Gourmet Pasta And Seafood

We come here every year when we visit Carlsbad. For the last 20 years, this place was great. This year was noticeably different. Not as much seafood in the pasta as there use to be, greasier then I remembered, prices are higher, and the quality/taste is different. My kids pizza crust was burnt on one half.Food: 2/5

The portions sizes are smaller then they use to be, the quality has gone downhill, and the prices went through the roof. The beer tastes funny, like they haven't cleaned the tap type of funny. The restaurant and kitchen look dirty too. (You walk by the kitchen to go to the bathroom).

We've been coming here for over 20 years when we visit Carlsbad. This time was the last time. The quality has gone down hill. Our seafood pasta had about half the seafood it normally has. Our kids pizza was burnt on one half. The beer tastes like the tap hasn't been cleaned ever. The restaurant, kitchen and bathroom are dirty. The service has never been the best, but now its just not worth it for how much you pay. We tried to talk to someone, anyone, about this, but no one came back to our table, and no email on their site.

I remember this place being amazing. It 's been years since my last visit. I take my kids to eat tonight and it was the absolute worst. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 25 years. I notice certain behaviors and how guest should be treated. We were being ignored the whole time. Had to ask for refills, had to ask for plates, had to ask multiple people for bread. When the food came, not once did the server come by to check on us. Which is one of the most basic server rules...the check back to ensure the guests are happy and don 't need anything. I had to ask for the check twice.. Had to ask for boxes.. which was obvious. We were intentionally ignored by the server, Scott, as we were prejudged from the moment we walked in. The worst part, all the other tables were getting service and attention. Food was just ok... Pizza crust was dry and no flavor... I will never go back and hopefully warn people to stay away. I tried to email the manager directly but guess what... No email on their website!!!

My better half I have been eating at Jay's for the past 3 years! we love the taste quality of the food the staff always makes us feel like we're family If you happen to be in the Carlsbad area that you'd better stop off at Jay's for lunch or dinner.
