The Red Kite Inn - Carmarthenshire

We visited the Red Kite restaurant on a bank holiday Monday after reading positive reviews of local pubs. We were not disappointed. Our table was ready upon our arrival and we were seated promptly in the stylish restaurant area. Our drinks were quickly ordered and delivered to our table. The menu offers a variety of exceptional options to suit all tastes. I started with cheesy garlic bread, which was a generous portion. My companion had the garlic mushrooms, which were beautifully presented and delicious. For our main courses, I enjoyed the hunters chicken, which was fantastic. My companion had the pan-fried chicken in a white wine, garlic, and tarragon sauce, which was also excellent. We indulged in a selection of desserts, all of which were irresistible. The staff were friendly and interacted with us warmly. I highly recommend the Red Kite for its food, and we are looking forward to trying the Sunday Carvery next.

I recently had Sunday carvery at this restaurant and it was delicious. The portions of slow-cooked meat were huge and the cauliflower cheese was also really good. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Upon arrival for Sunday lunch, we were not provided with any menus. While the service was fast, some of the staff were loud, rude, and wearing dirty clothing/uniforms. The meat was dry, vegetables were tasteless, and the only warm gravy was not great. Additionally, all the food was served on cold plates, so by the time it reached the table, it was barely lukewarm. Overall, it was a very disappointing and poor meal. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

I booked one night and of course dinner too as there is nothing else nearby. Mainly it’s a pub with rooms on the road. The room was clean and pleasant, the bathroom tiny but functional. Wifi was good. Breakfast is not included and anyway they began too late for me. Dinner was good, with the typical pub menu. I had a soup, lemon sea bass filet with chips and mint cheese cake, all home made and tasty. The owners are very kind. There is parking on the premises. The price for the room was very good (55£ , the meal relatively expensive.

We had a meal here last Saturday evening. We intended to have a dessert as well but honestly the portions were so big we had no room for one! The staff were pleasant and helpful. And I have to say the food was piping hot, even near the end of the meal the food was steaming with heat.
