Stationæry - Carmel By the Sea

This was an amazing venue for us. We celebrated a birthday, enjoyed dinner with friends, and announced a baby, all while indulging in delicious food, surrounded by a wonderful atmosphere, and receiving exceptional service. The outdoor setting is ideal during these unpredictable times, and we can't wait to return.

The food and wine were outstanding, showcasing fresh and vibrant flavors. I feel confident in saying that this is the most innovative and unique menu you’ll find in Carmel; it truly stands apart from the typical offerings at other restaurants in town. I highly recommend making a reservation! We wished we could have enjoyed brunch there as well, but unfortunately, we ran out of time. Be sure not to miss Stationaery during your visit to Carmel!

The only downside? The prices. I believe that good food should always be accessible without extra charges. For instance, a glass of almond milk costs around $7, and if you customize a burger with an extra patty, egg, and bacon, it can go up to $35. I understand that Carmel is pricey and minimum wage is high, but $35 for a burger feels excessive. The food is outstanding, but just keep in mind that while the atmosphere is casual, you'll be paying fine dining prices.

A lovely restaurant with a thoughtful, season menu. Service (even during COVID) was excellent, and all dishes were expertly prepared. We WILL return!

We had the pancakes, chilaquiles, and the potato pancake! The food and coffee was amazing as usual! Our server seemed indifferent. We really love this place!
