The Carmel Coffee House And Roasting Company

This is a great coffee shop with beautiful outdoor seating. I went several times on my recent visit to Carmel and tried the cappucino, chai latte, and almond croissant- all wonderful. The friendly staff saw my pups waiting outside and gave them pup cups, and they came to recognize and love the passageway back to the shop. This face says it all! Highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic fresh roasted coffee—definitely the best in Carmel-by-the-Sea! My favorite was the medium roast; it had a lovely flavor without being over-roasted. There's a charming little seating area in the alleyway as well. They offer decent, affordable breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and pastries too.

I was looking for a beautiful spot to have a simple coffee and enjoy the sky blue day on an unexpected stop in Carmel. Perusing the cafes in Carmel, I was attracted to the beautiful courtyard vibe at Carmel Coffee House. The aesthetics don?t disappoint. Upon walking through a breezeway from Ocean Street, I noted one of the last tables in the courtyard and then I popped my head in to the cafe (which does not have indoor seating). The staff were funny and jovial with me, though I?ve read that staffing and ownership have been a problem in the past. The staff recommended their favourite coffees and I ended up opting for an iced latte with just a hint of lavender. I?m enjoying my iced latte and loving that they listened to my request for only the smallest hint of lavender. Would return for the vibes. Gorgeous place to get caffeinated and do a little work. You feel removed from the cars and foot traffic of Ocean Avenue but you?re only steps away. Coffee is a good dark roast. Working? I?m using full bars of 5G so I can?t speak to the wifi.

We absolutely adore this charming little coffeehouse. Tucked away in an alley between a couple of buildings, it’s easy for tourists to miss, which means you can pop in for a fantastic coffee without having to queue behind a long line. The staff is welcoming, the drinks are steaming hot, and the pastries are freshly made. I particularly love the patio seating, surrounded by beautiful, classic Spanish architecture that creates a stunning atmosphere. I even bought some espresso beans to take home and brew, and they are exceptional. I often find myself let down by beans from other roasters, but these truly exceeded my expectations. So, step inside and treat yourself; you won’t be disappointed!
