Juan's Mexican Grill Inside Comstock Casino

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and the food and service have always been excellent. However, during my most recent visit, both aspects fell short of expectations. The new waitress was condescending, despite her apparent lack of experience. The food was delicious, as always, but unfortunately, I found a twist tie underneath my dish. It’s disappointing because this place usually delivers such a great experience.

I visited the restaurant on a Tuesday and tried their Taco special. For just $5.99, you can enjoy 2 tacos along with a choice of beer. I chose ground beef for my tacos, which were served in a pan-fried style rather than the usual soft flour or corn tortillas. They were delicious and held up well under the weight of the beef, cheese, and lettuce without being greasy at all. The Bud Light paired perfectly and was quite refreshing. The complimentary chips were crispy and fresh, and the accompanying salsa had a nice kick that complemented my tacos beautifully. The service was excellent, with staff offering plenty of smiles and refills. If I didn’t live in Honolulu, I’d definitely be coming back here over and over again!

I hear the food is excellent, but every time I've attempted to dine at the restaurant during their stated hours of operation, it has been closed.
