By chance I was in Castel nuovo di Porto and I was advised to try this home restaurant. Few tables and location simple but very clean. The kitchen is simple and very clean. Great value for money. The waitress and the owner very kind. The raw materials of excellent quality and well prepared. Surely to try and then... try again.

HOME RESTAURANT MATTEI....small Jewel in the heart of the village of Castelnuovo di Porto. Splendid welcome, courtesy, availability, cleanliness and impeccable service. Perfect place also with children The owners are a young couple.....gentle, fast and friendly; light atmosphere.... without any pressure....how to stay at the house of friends! These are the main elements that distinguish this HOME RESTAURANT. Every dish is well presented, perfectly cared for and of excellent quality, a pleasure for eyes and palate, from appetizer to desserts! ....impossible to leave something in the dish.........you will want to eat that too! The portions are abundant...... lunch was sublime. Absolutely recommended....we look forward to coming back!!!! !

I had the pleasure to celebrate a birthday of friends in this Home Restaurant Mattei. Splendid cozy and intimate environment (only 20/25 places) Roman home cooking with homemade egg pasta. Great for dinners between friends and family. Open by reservation, calling with a couple of days in advance you can even choose a custom menu. Great value for money.

Delicious local family run within a picturesque medieval village. kitchen entirely made in the house, abundant portions and moderate prices. suitable for families with children or those who want to eat typical dishes of the Roman tradition in a family environment. I'll be right back.
