China Cafe - Castle Rock

The sesame chicken at this restaurant is incredible! The lunch special is generous and reasonably priced, perfect for a late lunch. My boyfriend and I make it a point to come here almost every weekend for a lunch date.

I visited my third Chinese restaurant in Castle Rock, in addition to South Garden and Tasty House. Unfortunately, I found that the meat was not fresh and the sauce was overly salty. This restaurant falls below average in terms of Chinese cuisine. The food was overcooked and the service was mediocre.

Ate here for the first time. Quite possibly the best Szechuan Beef I've ever had. Service was very good and food was ready quickly.

It's been over a year, maybe more, since we last purchased food from China Cafe. It must have new ownership and clearly has a new chef. We had to throw out the entree and the appetizers were below average. It used to be really good. Also, the inside is even more run down than it used to be. I should have gone to South Garden II in N. Castle Rock. What a disappointment. However, I will say that the staff were extremely friendly and courteous.

Warning to potential customers! I am honest and upfront about my experiences. The food at this restaurant was terrible, and when I called to complain, the manager refused to give me a refund, claiming their food is never bad. But if that's the case, then either their customers have no taste buds or they are fibbing. I only give praise where it is due, and as a chef myself, I have a good understanding of food quality. Despite warnings from others, I decided to try this place for myself and was unfortunately disappointed by both the food and the management. I will not be ordering from here again.
