Bidra med feedbackHad lunch there today. Charming ambiance (see pics), soft music, nice menu. Uniquely, they make 14 soups for lunch, which they transform to enhance their dinner entrees. I had the mushroom soup, hubby had broccoli. Mine was thick and creamy, featuring a large, tender Cremini. I prefer a milder flavor, this soup was full bodied, a bit heavily spiced for my taste. Accompanying toasted artisan bread lovely. I gave BK 4 stars since hubby loved his burger! I chose the crab cake, which had a nice texture inside and crispy outside, but was seasoned more heavily, like a West Coast version, rather than a Maryland cake featuring the sweet crab flavor. I wouldn't order it again. Both dishes were accompanied by house-made kettle chips (potato, beet, kale), crisped leek; lettuce and tomato. So while I wasn't thrilled about either of my dishes, it's obvious that they came from a very creative kitchen, so we'll try it again. Our waiter, Ryan, was excellent.
Hidden gem! Food and drinks were great! Hats off to the chef and the staff! Everyone was kind, even got a chance to speak to the chef at the end of the night. Will definitely be back! My steak was like butter, so mad I forgot to take a picture lol.
I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, and my server Ryan was very outgoing and helpful, and his enjoyment of his position was readily apparent in his enthusiasm for the restaurant and the meals. There were some good choices for vegetarians... with the top two potentials for me being the Vegetable Pot and the Vegetarian Lasagna. Wanting to have something a little more solid, I chose the lasagna. It was quite good, and densely packed with vegetables...so much so that it was a bit hard to slice with the provided dinner knife. The only thing I might have appreciated more was a bit more seasoning, as it did fall a little short in flavor..but only a little, and it did quite satisfy me. If I return to Baltimore, I intend to return and get the Vegetable Pot.
A mix of casual and classy in Catonsville. A selection of over a dozen creative soups using seafood, chicken, beef and vegetable broths. Many hamburger options, along with clever twists on salads and sandwiches. You can combine soups and salad, or order a “booster shot” which combines soup, salad, sandwich and a juice shot. Crabcake is gluten-free and nontraditional. Sandwiches came with crispy beet, potato and kale chips. Friendly service and upscale atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
Everything was great. First time visiting. I love the atmosphere, gives you family feel. Our hostess, Mallory is daughter of the owners. She is FABULOUS. Bella, our waitress is currently training and did a PHENOMENAL job as well. Now for the food and beverages: I ordered the Soup/Salad/Sandwich and Booster Shot (A must HAVE). Maryland Crab Chowder soup was simply delicious, my ceasar salad tasted like another meal beyond delicious and my prime rib sandwich. The bread was perfectly toasted and cheese and onions just added a kick. You experienced flavor in every chew. In the mood for a Cocktail, please order the Catonsville, make sure to have your camera out before it gets there. TRUST ME.
