Chateau Bellevue - Cazaubon

We lucked out when we went to visit the Armagnac region - booking into this small family owned hotel was a gift.We wanted to explore Armagnac in depth and wanted a place to stay and booked in here.The hotel is under renovation - our room had been completed and was comfortable with a lovely outlook .The big surprise was the restaurant which is amazing. The daughter of the owner has trained in France and UK and she is obviously a true Michelin headed lady - her food was to die for.She created some delicious recipes and we went to two lunches and dinners there and we were in heaven.The menu changes daily and is seasonal - we had dishes like Veal Carpaccio with Pomegranate, Venison with fresh Red Currants, Veal Noisette that were tender, juicy and lightly crumbed. We had a Tartare of Canard (oh my), salad of cured Canard with walnuts and currants, foie gras, a magnificent fish dish - all these served with perfectly done micro vegetables like potatoes, parsnip, etc.The next best thing was an amazing Sommelier who is married to the chef - he has a passion for Armagnac and sent us to a fantastic tastings of this liquid gold. Apart from Armagnac he suggested some glorious wines among which a white Colombard was it. We were so delighted with this restaurant, it's food, it's wine and general excellence. It was also reasonable for the amazing quality it delivered. The warmth and help from our gorgeous sommelier was top class. It's a friendly and homely environment.I would go back in a heartbeat and it was such a highlight on our exploration of Bordeaux, Armagnac and St Emilion.They should really promote the restaurant stand alone as it is the star of this region.Don't miss it, and take any detour to get to this gastronomic delight.

We had the 5 course menu with allthe ingredients from the region - excellent. The portions are not big, so you can enjoy every single one. Big choice of very good wines from everywhere; we preferred the Cahors. The service is efficient and attentive.All in all a very good choice.

For a special lunch while in SW France, try the Chateau Bellevue, owned by the same family for generations, its sure to please! Well dressed waiters offer excellent service, and the food is delicious and well presented-quite a treat!

Perfect welcome. Very well maintained building and room very clean, delicious restaurant with impeccable high-level service. I fully advise this establishment.
