Cassandra's At Island Hills

Air conditioner was out on a 90+ degree day. Lots of tables held for reservations and heard servers complaining the reservations were no shows but the manager wouldn't release them for walk-ins. No wine list available. Food was ok but very expensive for what it was. Hope all of this is a bump in the road that can be worked out.

Now known as Casandras. Went last night and were pleasantly surprised. Last year our meals were mediocre at best. Things have changed this year with new management. My wife had fish and chips and I had fried oysters. Both were very good, but we must make special note of the salads and French fries. The Salas's were exceptionally fresh greens and the fries were fantastic, hot, and very crisp. The best fries we have had in our immediate area.

Nice dining area outside overlooking the nice looking course. That's where the decent part ends. The service was not up to par. Super slow with 3 servers tending 8 tables. Two of the tables were just drinking beer with no food orders. Somehow 3 servers couldn't keep up. Appetizers came out in good time but there was a 40 gap between them and the main dishes. Once the entrees arrived, the pasta dish was lukewarm at the bottom of the dish. Both burgers ordered were topped incorrectly and overlooked. The flavor was still good with my burger but it was still a preformed burger you've had before. Final score after round 1: +12 This place missed the cut.

Not good at all! Very over priced for food that is low quality and just heated up to serve. It took 30 mins to get the food when we were the only table in the restaurant. They ran out of milk, the taps were not working, and after I ordered a beer someone else came in and ordered the same kind, they were served and I was told sorry we just ran out of that beer. Not a place I would return to or EVER recommend!

The patio is a great summer dinner spot. Shrimp Tacos are a can't miss. Fried Chicken sandwich with their garlic aioli was one of the best I've had. Highly recommend a round of golf at Island Hills followed by dinner and drinks at Cassandra's.
