Bidra med feedbackThe food was good, though we had to wait a bit longer than expected. I understand they were busy, and the freshness of the food made it worth the wait. However, I was surprised that they didn't have sopapillas, which is unusual for a New Mexico restaurant serving Mexican cuisine. That was a bit disappointing while we were eating. Overall, it's a decent place to stop when you're in the Chama area.
Whenever we camp at Heron Lake State Park, we always visit JV's place. It's consistently a bustling spot, but definitely worth the visit. The food is outstanding!
I hadn't visited JV's in nearly 20 years, so it was a pleasure to return and see the same beautiful, cheerful young women managing the restaurant. The food is just as good as I remembered—my favorite is the beef chalupa, although it's definitely not for the faint of heart. It's spicy!
