Tastee Freez - Champaign

I was in town for business and decided to stop by this restaurant. I can't understand how food can be tasteless (the fries had no salt and absolutely no flavor) yet still manage to be really unappetizing. My meal was barely warm, and I ended up spending $40 only to throw it in the trash. I don't get how this place has an average rating of 4.8 stars, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend wasting your money here. Additionally, the woman at the window was quite snappy and rude, rushing me through my entire order as if it were a competition. I won't be coming back.

We absolutely love this place! We stopped here on our way to Florida and the food was delicious. My husband ordered a chili cheese dog, while I had a cheeseburger and a corn dog. It tasted just like we remembered! The interior has an 80s vibe, both inside and out, which brought back a lot of memories for us. They also play a lot of great 80s music. The food is fantastic, but last time I visited, the service was quite slow and the staff wasn't very friendly. However, on previous visits, they were incredibly nice.

Drive-Thru experience: The service was surprisingly quick, even though there were several cars ahead of me. This seems to be the norm these days, as many places are experiencing staff shortages that lead to longer wait times. Personally, I wasn't impressed with the ice; it had a somewhat grainy texture that I found off-putting. I had expected this, though, since I've tried their ice cream before and it wasn't anything special. Unfortunately, there aren’t any other noteworthy ice cream options in the area.

Love the chilli cheese dogs. I have been eating here for 25 years
