Bidra med feedbackTheir pump didnt work so when we went inside to get it started we were told to go to another pump. No attempt was made to put a sign on that one. We went around the block in the rig to get in another pump and saw someone struggling to get that one goingtoo so we left.
Showers are large and clean! Truck parking can fill up fast. Staff was friendly and very helpful! Overall a great truck stop.
I would have given this restaurant a 5-star rating, but I have to ask: why is there no air conditioning in the showers? You step in to take a shower and come out sweating profusely—it’s pointless and absurd, especially with the temperature reaching 95°F outside. On the bright side, it was nice and cool inside the restaurant. I also noticed that the app said there were 9 reserved parking spots, but only 2 were actually available. Even after taking a cold shower, I found myself sweating while getting dressed. I can't believe it... oh wait, yes I can, coming from the Houston area!
The food was not fresh, and on our first night, we encountered a dirty shower with hair all over the bathroom sink. The food was left sitting under the warmers for far too long. So far, this is the worst Flying J we have experienced. We usually stay at Flying J or Pilot locations and spend a significant amount of money there, so the treatment we received at this one in Channelview, TX, was very disappointing. We even had to leave the driver lounge because a local driver didn't like what we were watching on TV. Despite having been there for a while, he went straight to get the manager as soon as he walked in, and we were asked to leave.
This is one of the cleanest and most well-organized Flying J locations we've visited in a long time! The staff was in high spirits, which was truly uplifting. Great job, everyone!
