Bidra med feedbackOne of the best meatball appetizers I have had. The pasta was outstanding. Enjoyed the background music selection as well. Looking forward to trying the pizza sometime as it looks great.
I was in Charleston for a bachelor party and got a reservation here, which was recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. I will say that it was probably an usual vibe there since our party was half of the restaurant, but it seemed like everyone there was enjoying their food/drinks. We ordered several appetizers and probably had one of every pizza at our table. I think the Salami was the best just because the blend of cheeses were unexpected and great! The bachelor spilled some of the tomato from the bruschetta on his white shirt and this is when we were lucky enough to meet Gale! She came by to check on the table and was able to get us some shout and a napkin for the stain. Her and the staff were very helpful with drinks and the menu (we had a few picky eaters) and gave recommendations on their menu and local places to try!I would have gone back the next night if we could have! Food was amazing and the atmosphere was as well!
Worst treatment by bar staff ever experienced in my life. From walking in the door the bartender didn't want to wait on me and friend (1 hour before closing). Was unhelpful, standoffish, and then became rude. While we were undecided about drinks and commenting on our choices with bartender we were told that we were making his night difficult. Escalated from there and we were told he wanted us to leave. We hadn't even been there for 15 minutes. Just in being indecisive we were told we were rude, and were also told that we smelled. I have never been so shocked and offended by any person in customer service. My friend and I spent years in the restaurant industry, were having a great night before he stepped in the door. Will never visit this establishment and will continue to inform others of the experience.
The food had some really great flavors to it! I would come back here again!
We went to Charleston for the weekend to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Upon searching reviews to decide where we wanted to celebrate over dinner, we were so lucky to find Gale Restaurant. The staff was extremely accommodating and the food was amazing. We were fortunate enough to be there during one of Gale's visits to her restaurant. She graced us with lovely conversations, two glasses of champagne, authentic ricotta filled chocolate glazed cannolis for dessert, and she also had our wedding song played while we enjoyed one of the best meals we've ever had. She even offered up her meatball recipe, and they were out of this world. Thank you Gale for giving us an anniversary meal we will never forget. Looking forward to our next meal at Gale!
